This incredible nature photo was taken here in Whatcom County. Rick Warren captured the image when an eagle swooped in and stole his friend's trout. This picture is a great example of the life style we experience here in the northwest.
This photo is from Lake Padden -- a popular lake in Bellingham. There were reports that sports fishermen had been losing their catches to a bald marauder. I guess those reports are right!
Even 30 years ago, when my wife and I used to canoe at Lake Padden, we would see a pair of eagles nesting in a tree top. I never dreamed that the species would become so bold over the years --bold bald eagles.
